Playbook wifi network sharing
On the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet home screen, tap the gear icon in the top right corner to view the Options menu. Press OK, and if you would like to specify a password, toggle Password Protect to On and specify your desired password. After choosing your password, scroll up and next to Network Identification, tap Properties and review the following settings.
Enter the following and replace 1. Open the settings menu by swiping down from the top bezel when the PlayBook is showing its homescreen. Select Storage and Sharing from the settings menu after you've connected to a Wi-Fi network. Select the Properties button beneath that and enter a device name , the name of your computer's workgroup, and then you can optionally set a username and password to protect access to the device. Locate the Network icon on the left side and select that. You should then see the name of the Playbook that you selected in the Wi-Fi Sharing properties earlier.
Just out of curiosity, over windows xp would you be going through my network places than workgroup to access the playbook? For some reason each time I attempt this I am told to contact the administrator as I do not have to access this resource.
Which is odd, because I am the administrator. Hey, i had issues with the USB cable thingy too, but i googled and found out that you have to turn off wifi and bridge to be able to connect successfully through USB cable.
